Stora Rör

Description

Stora Rör is a gem on the west coast of Öland, situated between the larger guest harbours of Kalmar and Borgholm. Once a bustling ferry port (ferries ceased operation after the Öland Bridge was inaugurated), it has now been transformed into a beautifully renovated harbour. There are 15 guest buoys and several red and green-marked berths among the mooring fingers. The small community invites you to enjoy forest walks and long bike rides along paths in the lush forest. The fresh, clear water with a sandy and rocky bottom beckons you to swim on the southern side of the harbour and in Bryggarviken, located 300 meters north of the harbour.
The old harbour warehouse offers high-quality services, including five toilets, four showers, a kitchen, and a sauna. Fresh water and electrical outlets are available at all jetties, and there is also a pump-out station.
Bread and buns can be purchased at Mormors Stenugnsbageri, situated in the harbour. The restaurant Hökarboden offers Neapolitan pizza, among other things, while Mormors Bistro serves the day's lunch and dinner à la carte.
